Concrete Leveling in Richmond, KY

Sunken concrete is a trip hazard and a sign the soil under the slab has settled or washed out. Leveling lifts the existing slab back into place by pumping material underneath — far faster and cheaper than tearing out and repouring. It works for driveways, sidewalks, patios, garage floors, and pool decks.

Warning signs

  • A driveway, walkway, or patio slab that has dropped at one edge
  • Trip hazards where two slabs meet
  • Pooling water on a slab that used to drain
  • A garage floor pulling away from the foundation
  • Cracked slabs that rock underfoot
Not sure what you're looking at? That's normal — the causes overlap. A free on-site inspection tells you what's actually happening before you spend anything.

How it works

  1. Free inspection. A specialist confirms the slab is a good candidate for lifting rather than replacement.
  2. Method. Mudjacking uses a cement slurry; polyurethane foam (polyjacking) is lighter and cures fast. The right choice depends on the slab and load.
  3. Lift. Small holes are drilled, material is pumped to raise the slab evenly, and the holes are patched.
  4. Same-day use. Most leveled concrete can be used again the same day, especially with foam.

What drives the cost

  • Slab size and how far it has to be lifted
  • Mudjacking vs. polyurethane foam
  • Number of slabs and access
  • Whether the underlying soil also needs stabilizing

Concrete leveling typically runs about $3–$6 per square foot for mudjacking and $5–$25 per square foot for polyurethane foam; a sunken driveway often lands around $1,500–$7,500. Replacement usually costs several times more.
